PermitToWorkSystem

is a formal written used to control certain types of work which are identified as hazardous. It also means communication between site/installation management, plant supervisors and operators and those who carry out the work. [11]

Essential features of a permit work are:

•Clear identification of who may authorise particular jobs (and any limits to their authority) and who is responsible for specifying the necessary precautions.

•Training and instruction in the issue and use of permits

•Monitoring and auditing to ensure that the system works as intended.
