Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a main component in complex web based e-learning (or blended learning) arrangements. It is a web based software solution. Besides the administration of users and distribution of learning content, it provides many tools for synchronous and asynchronous communication, self control instruments, evaluation, structuring & scheduling of courses and group activities etc. There are many different LMS products on the market, both in commercial and open source domains. Some of them feature content management systems, which provide the possibility for content creation such as WBT, tests, glossaries etc.
