FTA

Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is a logic diagram showing the causal relationships between events, which singly or in combination result in the occurrence of a higher-level event. It is used to determine the frequency of a “top event” which may be a type of accident or an unintended hazardous outcome. [12]
It is a technique to illustrate or quantify the various events and component failures that may combine to cause one critical top event. [10]
